Prof. Andrew I. Chukwuemerie, (formerly Okekeifere), SAN, FCIArb (UK), FICIArb

Prof. Andrew I. Chukwuemerie is involved in an extensive Arbitration, ADR and Litigation practice of both international and domestic characters. He is also a regular speaker at Arbitration and ADR fora within and outside Africa. As at mid-2022 he has authored 5 very well received practice texts, 12 chapters in other books and about 50 journal articles published in all the contents of the globe, mostly in the Commercial Law areas.

A top grade scholar and award winner from his earliest times, Prof. Chukwuemerie, SAN has the honour of having become a Professor of Law within one of the shortest periods ever and at an equally remarkably young age. He also enjoyed the privilege of combining the ranks of Professor and a Senior Advocate (SAN, the equivalent of Queen’s Counsel QC in the UK) at the youngest physical and professional ages so far in the country. He is the initiator of the concept of an International Customary Law Arbitration with roots in Africa, Asia and the Americas, a good compliment of the strategies of NEPAD i.e. the New Partnership for African Development. He is a highly respected arbitrator and litigator within and outside Africa.
